First up, a few words about Google Cloud print. This Google technology allows you to print over the web, from any device. It connects your printer to the web, thus making it available from anywhere. From your phone, tablet, Chromebook, PC, or any other web-connected device, you can send print jobs over the web to your web-connected printer.

And now that I’ve succinctly presented Google Cloud Print, I am going to say a few words about Cloud Print for Windows. This software will help you export your local printer(s) to Google Cloud Print. So to sum it up, you can use Cloud Print for Windows to export your printer to Google Cloud Print and then you can use Google Cloud Print to print over the web.

Cloud Print for Windows works with 32- and 64-bit Windows editions. That’s any Windows edition from Windows XP SP3 onward. As expected, a setup wizard will help you install Cloud Print for Windows. When the installation completes and you run the application for the first time, you will be presented with a prompt that tells you to grant Cloud Print access to your Google account.

While the Cloud Print Service is running, you will see an icon in the system tray. Left click it to be presented with the Cloud Print Controller, a main dashboard that allows you to specify which printers to register with Google Cloud Print and also allows you to play with several settings that dictate how Cloud Print works.

Cloud Print for Windows is available as a Free, Standard and Professional Edition. The Free Edition comes with the following limitations: register one printer; one page print jobs; no printer sharing.

Use Google Cloud Print to print from anywhere and from any device. And use Cloud Print for Windows to export your local printers to Google Cloud Print. It’s as simple as that!
